About Orthodontics...
Sutton Orthodontic Practice specialises in Orthodontic treatment which is a way of straightening or moving teeth.
Many people have crowded or crooked teeth or jaws that are out of alignment (malocclusion – meaning “bad bite”) and orthodontic treatment can straighten the teeth or move them into a better position. This not only improves their appearance but also the way the teeth bite together.
The below Case Study shows a common orthodontic problem (malocclusion) and the results of the treatment. The upper arch treatment took 5 months and the improvement to the smile is clearly visible. This type of low visibility treatment is typical of what we offer at Sutton Orthodontics.
Children and adults can both benefit from orthodontics. In children we usually wait until the permanent teeth have erupted before treatment commences and treatment time on average lasts 12 – 18 months, but obviously varies with individual patients and may take slightly longer in adults.
At your initial appointment your orthodontist will give you a full dental examination, including looking at your teeth, taking x-rays and making plaster models of your teeth. All treatment options will then be discussed with you and this will then be carried out in a relaxed, modern and friendly environment using the very latest orthodontic methods and materials, including fixed, removable and low visibility braces.
Our aim at the end of treatment is for you to be able to “smile with confidence”.
